The Vortex Razor HD AMG 6-24x50 Riflescope is Vortex's most expensive scope, and feels the best made to me. Nicely packaged and well designed.
It has all the features of any high end scope (excellent glass, zero stop, great tracking, parallax, solid build quality), but in addition it combines light weight with excellent magnification (6-24) performance.
That means that a long range shooter can likely use this scope for multiple purposes, to hunt and to compete (or just shoot steel at range). That helps justify the high price, if you are happy to switch your scope between rifles. Its price point puts it right up among the most high end of scopes from the big German names.
Another key benefit is that it is made in the US, so it has another level of QA and value to those of us that prefer American made and that also explains the higher pricing. Yes the tube is smaller (30mm) and also the objective lens (50mm), but that is unlikely to compromise the light performance as it has high end optical coatings and again, it's designed to offer light weight and magnification in one quality package.
It comes with one reticle design at this time, the EBR-7B, in either MRAD or MOA.
In summary, it has everything we like about the Razor HD Gen II (build quality, great turrets, clear glass, clean reticle design), but its way lighter at 28 vs 48oz!
